New Construction nearing completion
Northern New Hampshire
The owner of this hillside house had occupied the property for several years utilizing a yurt, a portable toilet and no power. They loved the location and view and wanted to maximize on that, with a small, simple structure that would be unique, fun and satisfy their space needs
The desire to maximize on the view lead them to a building form more akin to an observation tower than a house. The decision to go with small but special allowed the available funds to provide the rooms and area they felt necessary but concentrate on the form and finish more than the expansiveness normally associated with a vacation house.
With plans for additional deck and storage hut, the structure will embody the utilitarian ethos of a forest-fire observation tower, but afford the comfort and warmth of a unique and elegant second home.
