The owner of this NH Home Builders Association ‘Best in Show’ award came to the conclusion that their existing home on this lake front property did not utilize the best aspects of their property and no longer met the functional requirements of their extended family.

This home was designed around the desire to provide a space large enough for big holiday gatherings and smaller spaces for privacy and seclusion from the inevitable stresses that arise from such gatherings.

The home incorporated enough bathrooms and sleeping facilities to cater to twenty-plus people, but also achieved a look and feel of a medium sized single family home. With a home theater and a games room, as well as
numerous places to sit in solitude and enjoy lakefront living, this timber-framed home offered everything the owner wanted to keep their guest coming back.

This project was carried out by project architect Phil Bennett while at CPW Architects.
